Economic Impact of the NC Wine Industry

Over the past ten years, the wine industry in the state of North Carolina continues to grow with new vineyards and wineries opening on a consistent basis. Per the Economic Impact of North Carolina Wine and Grapes by A Frank, Rimerman + Co, LLC, the number of wineries by year, from 2005-2016, have more than doubled as shown in figure 1 below.

Figure 2 shows the economic impact to the state of North Carolina as a result of the wine and grape industry. These numbers take into account revenue, such as winery sales, retail and restaurant sales of local wine, distributor sales, tourism, wine grape sales, etc.
